A block is a ready-to-use group of predefined components that serves as a fundamental building unit within the item layout. Blocks can include text, images, buttons, and other interactive or static elements available in eWizard Editor. Using blocks in your content items streamlines the content creation process by providing you with a structured and consistent framework for efficient content item assembly, ensuring coherence across various channels.

You can find all the content item blocks on the DEFAULT and FAVORITES tabs in Editor. Use the MODULES tab to pull available content modules from Veeva Vault PromoMats to your content item layout with or without the blocks.

Emails, email fragments, and email briefs

The set of blocks available in Editor depends on the target system, language, or country selected in the Create new, Edit details, or Make a copy pop-ups.

You can manage multiple blocks on the content item layout at a time.

Default blocks

Default blocks are pre-designed elements of the content item template. They're foundational blocks that provide structure and consistency to the layout. Default blocks offer ready-made solutions to streamline content customization.

On the DEFAULT tab, you can find the following block groups:

  • HEADER comprises the Empty block and block with logo.

  • BODY includes blocks with text and image components.

  • FOOTER contains blocks with contact information and social media links.

To add the default block to the content item layout:

  1. Go to the Blocks β†’ DEFAULT tab.

2. Select the required block and drag it to the layout.

The block is ready for its further customization.

To customize the component inside the added block:

1. Select the required component.

2. Configure the component styling [1] and properties [2].

To move the block, hover over it and select on its left. Then, drag the block to the required place on the layout.

In eWizard Editor, you can pull content modules from Veeva Vault PromoMats to the default blocks.

Empty block

Available for e-Detailers / emails / email fragments / websites / briefs

An empty block is a structureless block for pulling content modules from Veeva Vault PromoMats to your content items.

e-Detailers, emails, and modules

With the ModCon 2.0 approach, you can use the MODULES tab to pull content modules from Veeva Vault PromoMats to your content items.

To pull a content module to the empty block:

  1. Add the empty block to the layout.

  2. Hover over the empty block and click on its left.

  3. Go to the Properties tab and click BROWSE.

    The Assets pop-up opens.

  4. Log in to Veeva Vault account.

  5. Use filters or the search box to find the required content module from Veeva Vault PromoMats.

  6. Select the module and click ADD to place it in the empty block.

Module components keep the style and formatting of the pulled Veeva Vault module.

Now, you can customize the component properties of the added module in eWizard Editor.

If you assign a different element type to the module component, this change affects the source module when you publish it as an update to Veeva Vault PromoMats.

To replace the components within the added module, use the Assets pop-up.

Text

eWizard Editor supports rich text formatting of the text assets within the added module. As a result, the uploaded text assets preserve the following formatting:

  • Font style: bold, italic, underline

  • Font effects: superscript, subscript

  • Lists: bulleted, numbered

The content item template predefines the font family, size, and color of the text assets.

Image

You can add the alternative text and link to the image component in eWizard module Editor.

After publishing this module to Veeva Vault PromoMats, you can find the added data on the image details page.

Also, you can edit the image properties within the module uploaded from Veeva Vault PromoMats.

When you add a module with image assets to the e-Detailer or email, eWizard uses the image rendition created specifically for the content item type you're editing.

Check the supported image formats you can upload from Veeva Vault PromoMats.

Video

You can add the link, alternative text, and poster to the video component in eWizard module Editor.

After publishing this module to Veeva Vault PromoMats, you can find the added data on the details page of the video asset.

Favorite blocks

Available for emails, their briefs, and email fragments

In eWizard, you can save customized blocks for reuse in other emails, briefs, and fragments based on the same source template. Such blocks are added to the Blocks β†’ FAVORITES tab for quick access. Upon saving blocks as favorites, only you can reuse them in content items created with the same source template.

When you share a content item containing your favorite blocks, collaborators can't view them.

To add a block to favorites:

1. Hover over the required block on the layout.

2. Click on its left.

3. Select in the menu that appears.

4. In the Add to favorites pop-up, view the block metadata and modify it, if required.

The block inherits its metadata from the current template.

5. Click ADD.

As a result, the block appears on the FAVORITES tab in all emails based on the same source template, and you can reuse it.

When you assign a Brand value to a block, it appears in the FAVORITES tab of all items with the same source template and brand. Blocks without an assigned brand can also be added to items of any brand or no brand based on the same source template.

Unavailable blocks are the ones added to favorites in the item based on other source templates. You can't use them in the current item.

To find the required favorite block by its metadata, use the search box and filters.

To remove the block from favorites:

1. Hover over the required block.

2. Click in its upper-right corner.

As a result, the selected block is removed from the FAVORITES tab in all items based on the source template used.
