An eWizard token is a specially formatted code, which is replaced with the following values in Veeva Vault PromoMats:

  • The item metadata specified in the Create new pop-up, for example, a country or language.

  • The Veeva Vault values, such as a PDF document number.

When your item with eWizard tokens is sent to SFMC, Veeva Vault as PDF or interactive, Publisher replaces tokens with the matching eWizard or Veeva Vault values.

Emails, email fragments, email briefs

When you export your emails, email fragments, or email briefs for any target system, the Export service replaces eWizard tokens with the set value. Contact your administrator to configure this functionality for your eWizard environment.

Contact your administrator to configure the list of required tokens. eWizard supports them in the content items of the eWizard.js framework version 5.27.7 or later. You can find the version of the content item on its Details page.

You can use eWizard tokens in the template-based items or the ones created from Veeva Vault placeholders.

To add an eWizard token to your item:

  1. Open the item in Editor.

  2. Add the text component to the layout and enter your text.

  3. Place the mouse cursor in the required position of the text component.

  4. On the Properties tab, unfold the eWizard tokens dropdown list and select the token.

Depending on the settings, the eWizard token appears on the layout with or without a specific syntax ({$$.TokenName}).

eWizard tokens are processed within URL with or without UTM parameters.

Test email

When sending a test email with eWizard tokens, select the Replace tokens with mapped values checkbox in the Send test email pop-up. As a result, the added tokens in the test email are replaced with the default values used only for testing purposes.

However, you can verify the replaced third-party tokens only within the mailout system or after publishing the content item with tokens to the target system.

For proper eWizard token functioning in Veeva Vault, keep the applied syntax without changes.

After you publish the item to Veeva Vault PromoMats, eWizard tokens added to the layout are replaced in the following way:

eWizard token

Publication as PDF

Publication as interactive / Export

Material document number

eWizard first creates a placeholder in Veeva Vault PromoMats. Then replaces the token with the placeholder document number.

The token is replaced with the document number of a PDF previously published to Veeva Vault.

Other eWizard tokens

eWizard first creates a placeholder in Veeva Vault PromoMats. Then replaces the added token with a value specified when creating the content item.

The token is replaced with the item metadata assigned in the Create new pop-up.

For emails or email fragments, eWizard tokens can also be replaced with any value configured by your administrator for this publication type or export.
