Group the required content due to business rules.

eWizard offers module combinations to manage content module rulesets from Veeva Vault PromoMats. Such combinations allow you to group content according to certain business rules that help enforce specific company policies, regulations, and best practices, ensuring data consistency, accuracy, and compliance.

Contact your administrator to configure the usage of business rules in your templates.

You can use one of the following scenarios:

  • Create business rules from scratch in eWizard modules.

  • Upload content modules with business rules from Veeva Vault PromoMats.

eWizard supports the following configurations for business rules:

  • Standard for business rule regulations on the module level. You can apply standard business rules to modules only.

  • Enhanced for business rule regulations on the atom and module levels. You can apply enhanced business rules both to modules and their assets.

Create business rules

To create a business rule from scratch:

  1. Open the eWizard module in Editor.

  2. Go to the Module combinations tab on the elements panel.

  3. Click + to create a new module combination.

  4. In the New module combination pop-up, enter the business rule description and click NEXT.

  5. Select the modules for the combination in the Assets pop-up.

  6. Click SELECT.

The created business rule card with the added content modules appears on the Module combinations tab.

After publishing the content module to Veeva Vault PromoMats as interactive, you can find the business rule in the Content Module Ruleset section of Veeva Vault PromoMats.

You can apply the following actions to the business rule card:

Edit the business rule description and make changes in the rule content

Delete the business rule

You can edit and delete the business rule cards only in eWizard modules. In other eWizard content items, the cards with business rules are removed after the content module in Veeva Vault PromoMats is deleted.

Upload business rules

You can pull content modules with business rules from Veeva Vault PromoMats to your content items in Editor. For this:

  1. Add a module with business rules.

    On the DETAILS panel of the Assets popup that appears, you can check the business rule availability in the content module and open all content modules and their assets stored in Veeva Vault PromoMats.

    Standard configuration. If the content module you're uploading belongs to several module combinations, select the required rule variation.

    As a result, the required business rule with a definite set of content modules is added to the item.

  2. Back in Editor, go to the Module combinations tab.

To view the business rule details and content modules added to the ruleset, click on the business rule card.

Business rules validation

eWizard Editor allows you to validate all business rules related to the content module. If at least one content module is missing in the business rule or is incorrect, a red indicator appears on the Module combinations tab.

To view the validation errors, click on the business rule card. The business rule details depend on the eWizard item type and business rule configuration.

The business rule details vary based on the eWizard item type.

  • In modules, you can find the following information on the business rule card:

    • Business rule description

    • A list of business rules on the module level

    • A list of modules that belong to a definite business rule

To change the business rule description and content, use the EDIT button.

  • In e-Detailers, emails, websites, messenger ads, and briefs:

Enhanced configuration

The pop-up with business rule details contains the following:

  • The description of the business rule related to the module

  • A list of all business rules on the module and atom levels

  • Failed rules with the indicator and modules/assets highlighted in red

  • Incorrect rules with the indicator and modules/assets highlighted in orange

The rule is considered failed when, upon its validation, not all requirements stated in the business rule have been executed.

The rule is considered incorrect in the following cases:

  • The rule comprises misspelt or duplicated content module names.

  • The same content module is stated in mutually exclusive business rules, for example, Must be used with and Cannot be used with.

To view the content module and asset in Veeva Vault PromoMats, click their document numbers.

To resolve business rule issues, add the missing content module to the content item or correct business rule mistakes in Veeva Vault PromoMats.

Standard configuration

The popup with business rule details contains the following:

  • The description of the business rule related to the module

  • A list of all business rules on the module level

  • Failed rules with the indicator and modules highlighted in red

The rule is considered failed when, upon its validation, not all requirements stated in the business rule have been executed.

To view the content module in Veeva Vault PromoMats, click its document number.

To resolve business rule issues, add the missing content module to the content item or correct business rule mistakes in Veeva Vault PromoMats.

Publish modules with business rules

When publishing content items with business rule violations to Veeva Vault PromoMats as interactive or PDF for approval, the publication process fails on the PREPARATION step.

Upon clicking VIEW ERROR REPORT, you can check the business rule details for each failed rule in the Error report pop-up.

To resolve business rule errors, add the missing content module to the content item in Editor or correct business rule mistakes in Veeva Vault PromoMats. After the content item update, you can publish it to Veeva Vault PromoMats.
