To export your item as a document, perform the described common steps first.

PDF

Available for e-Detailers / emails / email fragments / modules / landing pages / email and landing page briefs / messenger ads

Once you reach the Export pop-up:

1. Set PDF on the target format selection page.

2. Select the following checkboxes, where applicable:

  • Highlight modules—to single out the pre-approved or modified Veeva Vault modules and their metadata. The option facilitates the approval process of the resulting PDF-formatted item.

  • Add outbound links—to include the Outbound links page with the list of content item links in the resulting PDF file.

  • Include mobile view—to export the content item in both desktop and mobile views. By default, the resulting PDF file contains the desktop view. The width of the mobile rendering is optimized to 320 pixels.

  • Include desktop view—to export the content item in both mobile and desktop views. By default, the resulting PDF file contains the mobile view. The width of the desktop rendering is 600 pixels.

  • Export as iPDF—to export the content item as an interactive PDF, preserving configured element interactivity and transitions in the resulting document.

You can select either Highlight modules or Export as iPDF, but not both options at once. This restriction prevents overlapping interactive elements and module highlight labels in the exported PDF document, which could potentially create visual confusion and reduce readability.

3. Click EXPORT.

As a result, you get a PDF file, which is editable in PDF editors and supports commenting.

The exported PDF file includes:

  • a single file with all types and sizes of your multisize banner.

  • individual pages for each page of your multipage site.

  • visible and hidden chapters, slides and subslides of your e-Detailer, and first slides of PDF documents added to the e-Detailer components with the Open PDF action.

Hidden chapters

The resulting PDF includes hidden chapters if the e-Detailer supports structure version 2. This version is available in eWizard.js framework 5.22.0 and later.

In case your item contains interactive components, the platform converts these components state-by-state as separate pages in the resulting PDF.

However, to avoid grouping the same slides together, components common for the header and footer of all slides are NOT converted to individual pages.

iPDF highlights

The exported or published iPDF document retains the following interactive features of the source e-Detailer added in Editor:

  • Actions: Open slide, Open PDF, Open popup, and Open link.

  • The popup component (wiz-popup and components that extend it), with the following exceptions:

    • If a popup is configured to open on the same slide by several layout elements (for example, the References popup), it'll only open when you click the first element.

    • If you add a popup component in the Master template mode, depending on the e-Detailer settings, only one slide with this popup is captured during the export. As a result, in the exported iPDF document, the popup closing button always redirects you to the page with this slide.

    • If a slide doesn't have any components with the Open popup action assigned, the close button for that popup is inactive in the resulting iPDF.

  • The tab group component (wiz-tab-group version 4 and above and components that extend it).

iPDF doesn't support the interactivity of custom content elements. To check if your component matches the interactivity prerequisites or if the resulting iPDF document doesn't meet your expectations, please contact eWizard Support or your content developer for assistance.

PPTX

Available for e-Detailers

Once you reach the Export pop-up:

1. Select PPTX on the target format selection page.

2. Click EXPORT.

The ZIP archive opens as a PowerPoint document. Each slide can be selected and edited as an image.

The resulting PPTX file contains all e-Detailer slides, including hidden chapters, slides and subslides, rendered as images on separate pages. You can navigate through the slides and edit them as images using any PPTX editor.

Hidden chapters

The resulting PDF includes hidden chapters if the e-Detailer supports structure version 2. This version is available in eWizard.js framework 5.22.0 and later.

The interactivity of the e-Detailer components isn't preserved in the resulting PPTX file.

HTML5

Available for emails, email fragments, and landing pages

Once you reach the Export pop-up:

1. Select HTML5 on the target format selection page.

When you check Store assets externally, all assets are uploaded to Amazon S3. Further, these assets are properly displayed in any email client.

2. Click EXPORT.
